HOLDENVILLE, Okla. – At least two people have been killed, including an infant, and several others have been injured after tornadoes ripped across portions of Oklahoma on Saturday during a severe weather outbreak that destroyed buildings and knocked out power to tens of thousands of customers, according to reports.
In addition, at least 14 homes were damaged or destroyed, and FOX 25 said Oklahoma City Task Force 1 was deployed Sunday morning to assist in search and rescue operations in the region.
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management (OEM) said the state’s Emergency Operations Center remains activated due to the extreme weather, and the OEM remains in constant contact with emergency officials across the state and has been in the process of coordinating response efforts.
