In today’s world, Paul’s warning in Luke 2:8 couldn’t be more relevant. The very nature of God’s divine plan and purpose is being twisted by radicals who are up to no good. What is man and woman? What is family? What is it to be human? It’s never been about whether or not people, especially kids, will be exposed to false beliefs. It’s always about whether God’s people will be faithful in their time.
“I’ve decided I’m an atheist,” said my 18-year-old son, looking forward to his first year in college. He’d had a Christian education since kindergarten and belonged to a Bible-based, well-respected church. But after all my parents’ hard work and prayers over the past 18 years, he’d fallen prey to the “empty deceit” of popular atheism, found in writers like Sam Harris and Christopher Hitchens.
