Gonzalez emphasizes that while Christians don’t need a physical temple for salvation, the preparation for the third temple signals the fulfillment of biblical prophecies. However, one of the most common misconceptions from Christians is that there will not be a physical third temple because the New Testament discusses the body of Christians as the temple of the Holy Spirit. However, as Gonzales points out, this is not how end time prophecy will play out.

“This is typically what fulfillment theology or replacement theology person means…they’re looking at it in a very limited way,” Gonzales says. “The Jews don’t believe that and the Scripture says they will build a Third Temple.”
