A top Palestinian Leader expects President-elect Donald Trump to “destroy Iran”, which could leave Hamas to crumble and could lead to wider conflict in an already unstable world.
A senior Palestinian leader said that he thinks President-elect Donald Trump will “destroy Iran” – leaving Hamas‘ influence to crumble.
Mohammad Hamdan, secretary general of the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) ruling Fatah party, said in an interview that they are “confronting Hamas’ ideology,” and that the problem is with “Hamas’ link to regimes outside Palestine.” he PA enjoys supported by several Western governments, including the USA. Meanwhile, Hamas accuses them of cosying up to Israel. There are fears that Iran’s destruction could lead to wider conflict. The Fatah leader told the NY Post : “We see that Trump and the ruling government in Israel are planning to destroy Iran, so Hamas [followers] will have no other choice than to become Palestinian. Hamas rejects international legitimacy, meaning UN resolutions. The world cannot accept a situation where a party does not accept international resolutions.” Previously, the Daily Star reported that fears of World War 3 have also intensified following stark warnings to the West about Vladimir Putin’s potential “land grab” ambitions which could reignite Soviet Union borders.
US and European chiefs have reportedly been cautioned that if offered a deal by Donald Trump to end hostilities in Ukraine, it wouldn’t curb the Russian leader’s territorial aspirations.
Instead, Putin might use the opportunity to target Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy before attempting a significant annexation of land, according to Professor Anthony Glees, a security and intelligence expert from the University of Buckingham.
