Tucker Carlson has said that Donald Trump‘s guilty verdict is due to the US having imported ‘the third world’ while saying he will win the November election ‘if he’s not killed first.’
The former president was found guilty Thursday on all 34 felony counts after a very brief deliberation. He faces sentencing July 11.
Carlson took to X, where his talk show has relocated since his departure from Fox News, to give his take. ‘Import the Third World, become the Third World. That’s what we just saw. This won’t stop Trump. He’ll win the election if he’s not killed first,’ he said.
He added: ‘But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family.’ Carlson has become a staunch ally of Trump, having interviewed him several times on his various programs, despite having revealed in private conversations that he ‘hates him with a passion’.
He even said he was flattered by rumors that he could be Trump’s vice presidential nominee, though he called the chances unlikely.
Other right-wing commentators were similarly dismayed and despairing over the verdict on social media.
‘A former president and current presidential candidate was just convicted of 34 felony charges by a jury of his political opponents during an election year based on a novel legal theory where the underlying alleged crime was never clearly explained and without requiring the jury to even reach a unanimous conclusion about it,’ Matt Walsh wrote.
He added: ‘This was the very definition of a show trial.’
Turning Point USA Director Charlie Kirk added: ‘We must win. We must defeat these savages. Stand with Trump. Take back America. Get to work.’
‘An absolute travesty — and, in all likelihood, a massive Constitutional mess,’ wrote Ben Shapiro.
Dan Bongino had an expletive-laden tirade, writing: ‘Dear Liberal Commie F***wads, Warning you now, we’ll be drinking your delicious tears in November. Laugh now motherfuckers, you’ll be crying soon. Bank on it.’
