YES, THEY ACTUALLY SAID THAT!: ‘This Country Needs A Dictator!’ Trump Fans At Iowa Rally Say ‘Absolutely’ They Want Dictator Trump Over Biden

Trump fans at an Iowa rally were near-unanimous when asked if they’d prefer former President Donald Trump as a “dictator” over reelecting President Joe Biden — one even said “This country needs a dictator!” and another compared Trump to a much-needed “paddling” for the nation.

Monday marks the first nominating contest in the Republican presidential primary, the influential (if not representative) Iowa caucuses. Not long ago, The Young Turks correspondent Michael Shure interviewed Trump fans outside a “Team Trump Iowa Commit to Caucus” event in Coralville, Iowa.

In one set of interviews, Shure asked about Trump’s promise to be a “dictator” but “only on day one” — which he made in response to Sean Hannity’s extremely leading prompt to assure viewers he would not abuse power.

Here are just a couple of the responses, including one guy who went to a whole weird spanking place:

MICHAEL SHURE: Would you rather have four years of Donald Trump as a dictator, or four years of President Biden reelected?

TRUMP FAN: You know, you don’t have to like the words that come out of the man’s mouth. But sometimes in life, we all need a good paddling from the principal to to set our life on the right track.

And this country does need a little bit of that. We need a little paddling. I mean, I was a problem child growing up and it took a good leadership to set me straight. So I think our country does need some of that.

So I hands down believe people wanted it four years ago, three years ago. So.

MICHAEL SHURE: But they didn’t vote that way, right?

TRUMP FAN: I don’t know about that.

MICHAEL SHURE: Did you think it was a stolen election?

TRUMP FAN: Without a doubt. We saw on a smaller level. We saw it in Arizona with Kari Lake being robbed of the governorship.

MICHAEL SHURE: The other day, Donald Trump said on his first day is going to be a dictator for a day.

TRUMP FAN: I like that! Yeah, I like that!

MICHAEL SHURE: Would you rather have Donald Trump as a dictator for four years or reelect Joe Biden for four years?

TRUMP FAN: I would rather have Donald Trump. I’d like to see the repeal the Roosevelt law so that he can be a president for a lot more than four years. But we this country, needs a dictator. I hate to say that, but it’s the truth.

MICHAEL SHURE: Donald Trump said in a speech that on day one, for a day he would be a dictator. What do you think of that?

TRUMP FAN: I don’t know.

MICHAEL SHURE: Would you rather have four years of Donald Trump as a dictator, or four years of Joe Biden as a president,?

TRUMP FAN: Trump.

MICHAEL SHURE: As a dictator?

TRUMP FAN: Maybe.

MICHAEL SHURE: Would you rather have four years of Donald Trump as a dictator, or four years of Joe Biden as a president.

TRUMP FAN: Donald Trump, all the way!

MICHAEL SHURE: Even as a dictator?

TRUMP FAN: Yes, yes!

MICHAEL SHURE: Even coming out of Slovakia?

TRUMP FAN: Yes, yes!

MICHAEL SHURE: Would you rather have four years of Donald Trump as a dictator, or four years of Joe Biden as a president?

TRUMP FAN: You know, we have a dictator currently. So.

TRUMP FAN: Yes, we do!
