Russia is getting ready for a potential nuclear war by holding its first-ever nationwide nuclear attack drill across 11 time zones on October 3rd. The drill will show off Vladimir Putin’s regime as a nuclear superpower, and it’ll involve preparing to destroy 70% of Russia’s housing and life support systems if martial law has been declared and the country has gone into full mobilization.
The test scenario states that in certain regions of Russia, if there’s an emergency or other physical impact, the life support facilities and homes could be totally destroyed.
It also says that there could be accidents at hydraulic structures, chemical and radiation-sensitive facilities, which could lead to secondary risks. Civilians and regional officials will have to set up emergency rescue teams, store food and medicine, and protect themselves from radiation.
The document also says that there’s a growing risk of armed conflicts turning into local or regional wars, including between nuclear powers.
